THE COMPANY
Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit an Accountant.
We are an award winning company having recently achieved our third Queen’s Award for industry, with our head office based in a modern facility at Inchinnan by Glasgow International Airport and have a very strong reputation in the market place. Our current turnover is £16m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We export 90% of our sales to approximately 115 countries and we have opened a number of overseas offices including the USA, China, South Africa, and Australia and are planning to set up more in the near future including Japan and Singapore.
POSITION
Reporting to the Financial Controller the main duties of this role will include:
- Timely production of Monthly Management Accounts and associated reports with additional analysis and commentary
- Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Ensuring stock/margin integrity
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
- Preparation of VAT and Monthly EC Sales List and Intrastat Submissions
- Cost review and analysis
- Commission for third parties
- Assisting with the development of in- house systems
- Documenting Procedures
- Process Improvements
- National Statistics
- Other adhoc duties
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The candidate will be a newly qualified accountant with 1-3 years post qualifying experience. You must be a confident and friendly individual with strong time management and organisational skills. Experience of Microsoft Office is essential – particularly Excel. Attention to detail and the ability to vary approaches and take on new tasks are also highly desirable.
