Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a Production Engineer.
We are an award winning company having recently achieved our third Queen’s Award for industry, with our head office based in a modern facility at Inchinnan by Glasgow International Airport and have a very strong reputation in the market place. Our current turnover is £16m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We export 90% of our sales to approximately 115 countries and we have opened a number of overseas offices including the USA, China, South Africa, and Australia and are planning to set up more in the near future including Japan.
POSITION
Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, this new position will be responsible for:
- Managing daily engineering issues that arise from production as well as providing technical support to maintain smooth running of production
- Updating and improving production processes
- Supporting new products from the design and development process into production
- Creating and inputting all electronic data (Drawings, Bill of Materials, Manuals, Assembly Procedures, etc) into the computer management system to support the product life cycle
- Monitoring the throughput of finished product in the test area to ensure compliance
- Maintaining the systems that ensures compliance with both ISO and CSA standards
IDEAL CANDIDIATE
Ideal Skills required:
- Experience of production engineering in a progressive environment with knowledge of improvement techniques and production analysis
- “Hands on” experience working with both tools and machinery
- Creative engineering design skills
- Strong analytical problem solving skills with attention to design and BoM details
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 quality management system
- Lean manufacturing techniques and value engineering
- PC literate with experience of MS Office tools and computerised production control systems
